Caleb is a passionate entrepreneur, published scientist, and value-added investor dedicated to supporting breakthrough science to globally impactful. He is currently Venture Partner at Tokyo-based Beyond Next Ventures, on the Investment Committee at Dubai-based CE Ventures, and Managing Director at US-based B3 BioVentures. His prior investor roles include Corundum Systems Biology, Prime Movers Lab, CTIC Capital, Arcline Investment Management, and Ikigai Accelerator. To date, he’s supported ~30 deep tech investments resulting in 2 unicorns and 4 exits. As a Founder, Caleb has created and managed businesses across life sciences, biotech, food and the financial industries. He serves on selected on startup and nonprofit boards, and workes with accelerators and ecosystem groups in both Japan, UAE and the US—all with the goal of strengthening collaborative bridges between ecosystems and enabling founders to scale internationally. Caleb received his BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Pennsylvania State University and his PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from Stanford University. He is the inventor on over 20 issued patents and the author of more than 25 peer-reviewed publications. Eternally curious, his current interests include the clinical realization of living medicines (cell, gene, and microbiome therapies), bio-inspired innovation, and the integration of AI into science-driven startups from day one.
